Currently I’m wearing a long sleeve hoodie with a pull up face mask that is 84% Polyester, 16% Spandex along with gloves and a wide brimmed hat. Recently I’ve been reading some people recommending cotton because it holds the moisture and will cool me off longer/better. Does anyone have any experience hiking in this type of heat? Cold is never going to be an issue where I am. Thanks.

I find wearing long sleeve UBF-rated clothing works best. They are designed to be lightweight, wick sweat, and keep the sun off. Hat and sunglasses +/- sun buff are also good ideas. Look for Cool Q ZERO or Omni Freeze Zero. It is basically a coating that works when it’s wet. Like those cold towels, kids use for soccer games in the summer.
